HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
IMAM SHUAIB ALAYE ARABIC AND ISLAMIC TRAINING CENTRE
The journey of the great citadel of learning IMAM SHUAIB ALAYE ARABIC AND ISLAMIC TRAINING CENTRE started far back in 2013 right within Sheikh Imam Shafi'hi Shuaib Alaye's living room where he used to teach his children and the children of some of his neighbours, prominent amongst who were Alhaji Abdulrasaq Omo Alijana, Alhaji, Alhaji Kelani, Alahji Atere, Alhaji Idowu, Alhaji Ologbo, Alhaji Olugbon, etc.
Its maiden name was Markaz Shubah Arabic and Islamic Training Center. However, it was renamed IMAM SHUAIB ALAYE ARABIC AND ISLAMIC TRAINING CENTRE after the intellectual and schlarstic meeting with Sheikh Thaoban Adam Abdullah Al- Ilory on the module operandi of the Madrasah, its administration and syllabus which had been part and parcel of the Centre till date.
The enthusiasm and interests of the neighborhood eventually caught the attention and magnified the mission of Sheikh Shafi'h Shuaib Alaye and his comrade in Islam, Princess Habibat Salman Saidu, the daughter of the late Daudu Ballah, Alhaji Salman Olarongbe Abdulkadir. Consequently, they both decided that the madrasah should be moved out of the living room to an opened area that could contain many students including the children of Princess Habibat, extending from the family house of Sheik Shafi'hi Shuaib Alaye at Alaye compound, Anifowose down to Upper Alagbado communities.
It is pertinent to mention that Sheik Shafi'h Shuaib Alaye had always been a visionary, committed, exceptional and highly intellectual Muslim scholar whose aims and objectives in life have been geared towards establishing a Islamic and Quranic center, Dawa’ah foundations, center of worship and preaching Islamic tenets. Therefore, establishing a make-shift learning center beside Alhaji Abdulrasaq Omo Aljana’s house was concluded without contrary thoughts to enable children and interested adults from the neighborhood, from the city of Ilorin and outside the state have opportunity to enrol and enjoy the benefit of learning Qura’an and other Islamic teachings and tenets.
The journey of thousand years starts with a step; thus, the people answered the true calling of Allah by enrolling their children into Imam Shuaib Alaye Arabic and Islamic Training Center. Some prominent enrollees included Alhaji Kelani, Mallam Ibrahim Atere, some middle and old aged women, and several children whom were withdrawn from their previous madrasats due to ineffective learning, and Imam Shafi'h Alaye’s standard way of teaching and result oriented impactful moral education.

Consequently, IMAM SHUAIB ALAYE ARABIC AND ISLAMIC TRAINING CENTRE was blessed with numerous students and it trained and produced over sixty students within the category of Qur'an recitation and tajwid (basic principles of reciting Qur'an) and basic learning such as Hadith, jurisprudence, basic Arabic language and poetry leading to the graduation of the first batch of students at Sha’adah ceremonies in 2016/2017, inclusive of those who were fluent in Qur'an recitation and the basic Islamic learnings (Hib'tidahi).
Considering the ardent commitment and tenacity of Sheikh Shafi'h Shuaib Alaye, the permanent site of the institute was constructed within a very short period. Alhamdulillah, this citadel of learning has yielded great, numerous achievements and prestige by admitting many students into all levels of classes and a bigger shahadah ceremony was held in year 2018 since the institute was able to train and produce another set of students in levels of Qur'ani, Hib'tidahi, Hidaadi and Taoji/Thanawiyy. Other Shahadah came up in 2020 and 2022; respectively.
IMAM SHUAIB ALAYE ARABIC AND ISLAMIC TRAINING CENTER also established another modrazah at Osere, Asa Dam Area in 2016 due to the immense contributions, achievements and effort geared towards propagating the teachings of Islam and its good ethics till date.
The history of IMAM SHUAIB ALAYE ARABIC AND ISLAMIC TRAINING CENTER cannot be complete without indicating that it originated from Darus-salam Centre for Arabic and Islamic Training now known as Morkazu-salam Arabic and Islamic Training Centre at Elepo Aran Quarters, Anifowoshe, Ilorin, Kwara State, which was founded and established by no other person other than Maolana Sheikhi Shuaib Alaye (Sheikh Shafi'h Shuaib Alaye's Father) during his lifetime. May the Almighty Allah accept his return, forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdauz. Ameen. The great Sheikh Shuaib Alaye commanded the running of the madrasah under the operation and management of his two sons Sheikh Salman Shuaib Alaye and Sheikh Shafi'h Shuaib Alaye, and his favourite ward, Imam Abdulsalam Alaye, the son of his brother.
Our Operation
Imam Shuaib Alaye Arabic and Islamic Training Centre operates as follows:During school holidays, the Institute,
Opens: 8:00am - 2:00pm (Saturday - Wednesdays)
Closes: Thursdays and Fridays
Jumat service: 12:30pm - 2:00pm.
Note: The Modrazah opens only in the morning from 8:00am -2:00pm during public holidays. Students use a year in each class which is subdivided into three terms per session.
